Yuwei Tu USA, b. 1995
25.4 x 24.1 x 9.5 cm
An example of the most recent work coming out of Yuwei Tu's studio, extending her interest in human detail to the narrowest surface view of a body, the view onto the surface of skin with the vascular system visible full of life. A steel armature reaches over this close-crop in something between an embrace and metal support.
Yuwei Tu (born 1995, Sichuan, China) Yuwei Tu is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, sculpture, and installation. Her practice centers on impermanence, emotional architecture, and quiet acts of composition. She is currently based in New Haven, completing her MFA at Yale School of Art. Her approach echoes Beatrice Wood’s sensitivity to embodied form and material intuition.
